This week seemed like a good time to share five fun facts about me for some of my newer readers. Everybody has little quirks that make them more unique as individuals. I’m excited to share some of mine with you! So, here are a couple fun facts about me!
ONE:
I hate grocery shopping. The grocery store by my apartment always seems to be under construction. I think this contributes to the fact that every time I go to the grocery store, I find myself in the baking aisle. Not to bake a cake, or anything exciting like that. Instead, I am always on the hunt for chocolate chips! I don’t know what it is about them, but I can’t get enough. I like to keep them in the freezer, and when I’m in the kitchen, or in need of a study break, I’ll head to the freezer and pop some in my mouth. Maybe I am just an average chocolate lover, but something about chocolate chips makes my life better.
TWO:
I have a little obsession with old houses (if you haven’t noticed by now), and as I see more of them, I find myself taking more photographs. Out of all the buildings, I always seem to be drawn to the old rusty doorknobs. It sounds just as silly as it is, but that’s right. I love taking pictures of doorknobs. There are so many ornate, beautiful handles that have such timeless aspects to them. I also love the doorknobs that are so old, they look like if you tried to turn them, they might just break off in your hand.
THREE:
I have never been a pink kind of girl. I know that so many pretty flowers (peonies especially) grow in enchanting pinks, but I just can’t make myself love pink. In fact, I think that certain shades of pink can actually make people nauseous. Have you ever seen a pink that was just too pink? The color is too sweet, so sweet that you could probably get a cavity just thinking about it!
FOUR:
Okay, so I have this belief that people who have plants in their house are good people. I know there is no science behind a statement like that, but I have a theory. It’s probably not always true, but I think that being able to take care of plants says something about people. They are able to care for something that isn’t able to ask for what it needs. A plant can’t ask for water, or thank the person who cares for it, but people continue to care for them regardless of the missing reciprocal relationship. I think there is something special about that. It is a certain thoughtfulness, or empathy for living things.
FIVE:
Finally, I love the nighttime. I love the moon, and the quiet hours that night time brings. I love when the moon shines into my bedroom, and stretches its light across my bed, especially in the summertime. Because I love the nighttime so much, I often find it hard to fall asleep at night. I keep a stack of books by my bed for those restless nights, and as I finish them, I add them to my bookshelf. I am constantly finding books that I want to read, and it’s fun to see just how many books I can read and add to my bookshelves.
Hopefully these silly facts helps you get to know me a little bit better. If you have more specific questions feel free to send me a message or leave a comment below. I would be happy to answer them!
