Thank you for being patient with me throughout these past few months. I know my posting schedule is not as regular as it has been in the past, but I have been working on my master’s degree in mental health counseling, so it is hard to post as consistently. Luckily, I only have one year left in my program! But I am back this week, and I have a lot of fun things planned for this summer despite the four classes I will be taking!
Back in November, I saw an ad online for a Black Friday sale that included this butterfly embroidered jacket. It’s not a warm coat, so living in Wyoming means that I did not have a lot of opportunities to wear it outside during the Winter months. Finally, I was able to break it out of my closet. I think it is such a pretty and unique piece that some of my readers will appreciate.
The black and white striped shirt I’m wearing creates a more simple addition to this outfit since I don’t love to wear plain, neutral tees. I thought it would be fun to incorporate a pattern, but nothing over the top. Sometimes I think it is nice to put emphasis on one part of your wardrobe rather than to wear multiples loud pieces because it makes it easier to showcase something unique.
This coat was also perfect for the rainy Wyoming weather and sage brush terrain that was captured in these photographs. I love that this is not a vibrant yellow. I guess you could even say it’s a mellow yellow. It could almost pass for a tan in certain lighting, and the individual butterflies add just a touch of fun to this look.
While I was wearing this coat, I went to run a few errands. I know that I caught the eye of a few people along the way. I always find it interesting to see which individuals like my outfits. Sometimes, I am pleasantly surprised by the people who compliment my more unusual outfits. It’s easy to tell which people don’t prefer the look because of the faces they pull. However, it is also really nice to receive a smile or tiny “I like your coat!” I like to think of those interactions as a reminder that I’m on the right path. Not everyone has to like the look for it to be perfect for me. In fact, some people not liking it makes me like it even more because it is truly unique!

Unfortunately, I can’t find a butterfly embroidered jacket or even anything similar to this jacket design. If I do in the future, I will be sure to let you know!
Until next time!
